About us

My laboratory research focuses on chemical- and gas- enhanced oil recovery (EOR) for both conventional and unconventional reservoirs. We also perform detailed characterization of surfactants, nanoparticles, polymers, and foams to design fluids for oil and gas recovery from unconventional and conventional reservoirs.

My group investigates the rheological, interfacial, and transport behaviors of soft matter and complex fluids, including colloidal suspensions, polymer solutions, dispersions, emulsions, foams, and nanofluids, to develop novel technological applications, primarily in sustainable subsurface energy production and storage and environmental protection.

Our simulation team specializes in machine learning, reinforcement learning, data integration, and analytics to optimize various processes and reduce uncertainty.

Our laboratory is located in the Resources Engineering Facility (NREF) at the School of Mining and Petroleum Engineering, University of Alberta.
